Tired and sore eyes, headaches, blurred vision and general fatigue - these are just a few of the painful eyestrain symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome, or CVS. Currently, CVS is the number one health complaint of office workers nationwide, affecting millions of people, including those with 20/20 vision. With our advanced technology, the PRIO™ Computer Vision Tester, we are able to prescribe special eyewear to alleviate the eyestrain, tearing, fatigue, and headaches often associated with computer use.
Because viewing a computer is different from viewing a printed image, traditional testing methods can't accurately diagnose your computer vision needs. Fort Myers Eye Associates uses new PRIO testing technology to see exactly how your eyes react to a computer display monitor.
When you focus on the simulated computer screen of the PRIO Tester, your eyes drift out to their natural focal resting point - just like when you work at your computer. This allows your eye doctor to create a prescription tailored to meet your precise computer vision needs. |

Dry Eye Syndrome is actually a collection of signs and symptoms that stems from an imbalance in the quantity
or quality of tears. These symptoms include dry, red, gritty
and even watery eyes. Often, dry eye sufferers report the feeling
of something foreign within the eye or even a feeling of eye strain.
Treatment Options include the use of artificial tears (certain over-the-counter brands work better than others depending on the severity of the signs and symptoms), warm lid soaks if there is concurrent eyelid conditions, Restasis Ophthalmic prescription eye drops, and/or Punctal occlusion (a non-surgical procedure to decrease the flow of tears from the eyes)

 |
What is Orthokeratology (or, "Ortho-K")? it is “The science or program of therapeutic application of contact lenses to alter the curvature of the cornea (front part of the eye), especially to reduce nearsightedness and certain types of astigmatism.”
-Dictionary of Visual Science
Ortho-K, also known as Corneal Molding, is a non-surgical procedure to reduce one’s nearsightedness.
The Success Rate with this procedure is very high as long as the patient fits the appropriate criteria. The doctors at Fort Myers Eye Associates will inform the patient prior to any fitting of these lenses what they feel the probability of a positive outcome will be.
